Where are they now: TAWNY KITAEN

Tawny Kitaen became famous in the 1980s for appearing in several hard rock videos for the band Whitesnake, including the hit “Here I Go Again”. Kitaen was married to Whitesnake lead singer David Coverdale from 1989–1991. But Kitaen began her acting career in 1983 with a minor role in the television movie, Malibu. In 1984, she starred as the title character of the erotic-adventure movie The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik-Yak. She also co-starred in the movie Bachelor Party as the bride-to-be of a young Tom Hanks and was the star of the 1986 horror movie Witchboard. In the same year she joined the cast of the soap opera Capitol until 1987 as Meredith Ross. After her music-video appearances, Kitaen took on a number of television roles: first of all she came to SANTA BARBARA as Lisa DiNapoli, the former alcoholic sister of Celeste’s (Signy Coleman). She briefly portrayed the role from February to July 1989, except for a handful of episodes in which she was temporary replaced by none other than Téa Leoni (Deep Impact). After leaving SB she was co-host of America's Funniest People with Dave Coulier from 1992-4, and was a regular cast member on The New WKRP in Cincinnati from 1991-3. She guest-starred in the episode The Nose Job of the sitcom Seinfeld in 1991 and in Season 9 Episode 1 of Married... with Children called 'Shoeway to Heaven' in 1994. She had a recurring role as Deianira in three of the Hercules: The Legendary Journeys television movies in 1994, and then in the regular television series.

In 1997 her career suffered a setback. In 2006 she was arrested for drug possession, has been in and out of rehab programs, was part of The Surreal Life cast in 2006, and was one of the patients in Season 2 of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew. Finally she returned to acting in 2011 in an episode of the TV series CSI. Today Tawny Kitaen is beautifully 51 years old, she has a strong presence on social networks, often interacting with her countless followers. Where are they now: MARGARET MICHAELS

Margaret Michaels came to SANTA BARBARA to replace Ava Lazar as Santana Andrade. She briefly portrayed the role from April to October 1985. Previously she has been hired as leading fashion model by rum Bacardi. Rid of the concern of earning her life, she then joined comedy lessons to fill her leisures, and also to learn how to become more natural in front of a camera. At these lessons, she met a young actor who advised her to leave New York, where she felt badly, to go to California to try her chance in Hollywood. He even gave her the address of one of his producer friends who could do something for her. “Thus I became in Los Angeles a production assistant. I was a little disappointed. But, very quickly, I was proposed small roles and it is thanks to one of these "breakdowns", like we say in this job, that one of the directors of Santa Barbara noticed me and hired me without any audition”. The small roles she speak about were on The Jeffersons (1982), Dynasty (1982) and Brian DePalma’s Scarface (1983).

In the late 1980s, Warner Bros. was looking for a Victoria Principal look-a-like to step into the role of Pamela Ewing on Dallas, after Victoria Principal had left the series. Late in 1988, Michaels appeared briefly in the first episode of the 11th season as Pamela Ewing, who had undergone plastic surgery after her near-fatal car accident. In the penultimate season 12, the producers of the series were looking for a Pam look-alike in order to give Bobby Ewing a chance to sort of say good bye to his former wife, as he never had the chance when Pamela had left abruptly back in 1987. Michaels was asked to return to the show, this time not as Pamela Ewing, but as a Pam Ewing look-a-like named Jeanne O'Brien. After her 4-episode stint on the show, Michaels' character Jeanne was written out.

From that moment on, Margaret Michaels left acting. She is devoted to the animal kingdom supporting Best Friends Animal Society sense 1979, and most recently the Onyx and Breezy Foundation. Since a continuation of the old Dallas, following a 20-year break, aired last year on TNT, I wonder if we’ll see Margaret Michaels in the coming seasons of the new Dallas.

BREAKING NEWS: A Martinez will star on CHILD'S PLAY sequel

Are you a sparked fan of the Child's play saga? Is A Martinez your favorite actor? If so, my friend, today is the happiest day of your life (after your child’s birth, your promotion at work .... I left out the marriage not by chance): the sixth installment of the Child’s Play saga, Curse of Chucky, has begun principal photography in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The franchise comes full circle as Toyland's most gruesome serial killer returns in an all-new movie from Universal 1440 Entertainment, a production entity of Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Curse of Chucky stars Fiona Dourif (The Master, True Blood), A Martinez (“Longmire,” “Santa Barbara”), Danielle Bisutti (Get Smart, “CSI: Miami”) and Brennan Elliott (Flight 93, Double Jeopardy). Brad Dourif (The Lord of the Rings, Dune) once again returns to provide the voice of Chucky, the pint-sized doll possessed by the spirit of notorious serial killer Charles Lee Ray, who returns to settle some unfinished business. The film is directed by Don Mancini, the Child's Play franchise creator who has written or co-written each of the previous movies and was the director of Seed of Chucky.  David Kirschner (An American Tail, Hocus Pocus, Bride of Chucky) produces from a screenplay by Mancini.  Tony Gardner returns on FX duties. Here the synopsis:

Nica (Fiona Dourif) is grieving over the gruesome suicide of her mother when her domineering older sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti) arrives with her young family in tow to help settle their mother's affairs. As the sisters butt heads over Nica's plans for the future, Barb's young daughter comforts herself with a grinning, red-haired talking doll named Chucky (voiced again by Brad Dourif) that recently arrived mysteriously in the mail. But as a string of brutal murders begins to terrorize the household, Nica suspects the doll may hold the key to the bloodshed. What she doesn't know is that Chucky has a personal score to settle. He's determined to finish a job he started more than 20 years earlier, and this time he's going to see it through to the bloody and shocking end.

"Since his introduction to audiences in Child's Play almost a quarter-century ago, Chucky has haunted the nightmares of a generation of moviegoers," said Glenn Ross, General Manager and Executive Vice President, Universal 1440 Entertainment. "Returning to his roots in one of the most provocative horror franchises, this new sequel will shock longtime fans of the series and newcomers alike."

I have contacted A Martinez today asking him if that news is confirmed. He replied:

"Yeah. Went to the cast read-through yesterday and then got to spend the evening with the great Brad Dourif (Lord of the Rings, Dune -- and the man who plays the psychopathic human behind Chucky). I had just seen Brad the night before in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," in which his brilliant performance earned him an Oscar nomination. "Curse of Chucky" is a terribly dark story, but it's also very well written and cast, and promises to be a fun ride for those with the stomach for flat-out, nerve-wracking horror."

I only have one recommendation for A Martinez: be careful with that toy, please! We want to see you for a long time.
 

Where are they now: MARISOL RODRIGUEZ

- Carmencita Castillo on SANTA BARBARA (1987/88) -

In 1987 Marisol Rodriguez graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in drama and she made her television acting debut as Carmencita Castillo on Santa Barbara in May 28, 1987. She played the younger sister of Cruz (A Martinez). Carmen came to town shortly after the presumed death of Eden (Marcy Walker) and she obtained from his brother to work in the detectives agency which he has just created. She was a close friend of Pearl (Robert Thaler) and for a certain period of Eleanor Norris (Sherilyn Wolter), before discovering that the woman had an evil mind. Without that any reason is never given, Carmen disappeared from the show a few days later Hayley’s death, feeling immediately responsible for that accident.  It was January 29, 1988. Shortly after leaving the show, Rodriguez starred on three TV series: Supercarrier as Donna,  CBS Summer Playhouse as Xochi Cordero (Tim and Daphne Reid acted as host during the first season, introducing each pilot. Viewers were also encouraged to call a 1-800 number at the end of each episode, to voice their preference. After the first season neither a host or 1-800 number were featured) and finally on ABC Afterschool Specials as Linda (it was the umbrella show name for various educational shows that were shown in the afternoon, occasionally. Each episode was produced by a separate company). In 1988 she left acting. Currently she is 47 years old, she lives in Florida and she works as Business Consultant at M. Rodriguez Consulting on Operations in Multi Unit Retail/Food Service. Previously she was District Manager at Starbucks Coffee Company.

 

FOCUS ON: Eden Split Personality -1991

This week marks Marcy Walker's final appearance on Santa Barbara - as personality No. 4. Playing multiple personalities has been no small feat, even for an Emmy-winning actress. For the past six months, viewers have seen the once staid and steady Eden Capwell Castillo split - literally. Overnight, SB's most dependable, predictable heroine developed a disposition that threw viewers, as well as a few co-stars, for a loop. "Frank Runyeon (Michael) once came up to me and said, “Seeing Eden like this is like seeing Mr. Rogers do drugs,” laughs Walker. Suddenly, cast mates with whom the actress had worked closely during her six years on the show reacted to her as if she were a complete stranger. "A (Martinez, Cruz), Judith (McConnell, Sophia), and Jed (Allan, C.C.) all looked at me like I was somebody else in our scenes together," says Walker. "That was really freaky. As an actress, it's very difficult, because they're looking back at you like they don't even know you." Yet, Walker understand their reactions to the blatantly brusque Lisa. “If somebody was having such horrific mood swings right in front of your eyes, you'd watch them differently,” she says. “It's completely justified that these other characters are going to wonder, 'What in the hell is wrong with Eden?”.

 

Walker's “altered” alter ego, Lisa, came into being as a result of Eden's unresolved past relationship with her mother. The trouble began when Sophia disappeared, and everyone believed she was dead. "That's the period when Lisa decided to emerge," explains Walker. "Eden had all this anger toward her mother about cheating on her father, when she was a kid. That's when the personality split sort of happened; then it submerged itself and went into remission for a long period of time. "Emotionally, I completely comprehended why [Eden] decided not to deal with her anger and why she even had the anger to begin with," she continues. "Eden had always been the catalyst in the Capwell family in terms of trying to keep people loving each other and happy. She's always been supportive of the family unit, regardless of the problems and the pitfalls they've gone through. When the storyline came up, it was so wierd. Eden's been so sweet and nice and settled. She had problems but has always overcome them. Now to have seen her being all freaked out...," Walker says, her voice trailing off.

Watching Eden "lose it" was hard on Walker. "It was sad knowing there had been so much unrequited love for her family and for herself in her life... that all of her support and love for her family was conditional... that everything I'd done for the past six years as Eden had really, truly been conditional love." To ensure she didn't step over the line as an actor, Walker researched multiple-personalities disorder thoroughly. "The writers compiled a lot of medical history on schizophrenia and split personalities," says Walker, who studied every bit of it. "I've also re-read The Three Faces of Eve and Sybil. I tried not to watch other people's performances," she notes. "I just tried to read up on cases so I could get some ideas. Obviously we've taken some dramatic license." Walker's research into this subject made her aware of occassional flaws in her own on-air story. "Lisa was stronger than Eden. She's the strongest personality of any that Eden had. So Lisa plays Eden in front of her mother, father and Cruz a lot, although not very well at times," explains Walker. "In true cases, the strongest personality rarely emerges to play host in front of the family. It just wouldn't happen. Lisa would never emerge in front of her family, because she'd feel she couldn't pull it off."

Walker also made note of the actual documented transition from personality to personality. "In real life cases, it happens for minutes," she explains. "[Patients] go through sort of a trembling phase of becoming somebody else. There's a very unconscious lapse of being that they go through. We don't have the time to do that here." Instead, Walker devised her own subtle ways of letting the audience know that Eden was transforming into Lisa and visa versa. "Obviously, the [on-screen] transition had to be quick, because we didn't have lots of time," she says. "I started off with headaches. Then there was something I did with my neck. When I came out of it [as Lisa], the position I put my eyelids in was somewhat different and so was the way I held my head to elongate my neck. Lisa also liked to play with her face and her hair. I didn't really like Lisa at all," Walker admits. "She was this shade of Eden... a part of Eden... sort of half-Eden and half-demon. The demon half was all anger and hatred. I don't think I missed that [when I was] playing Eden. That's not what Eden was all about."

Walker was concerned about how the split personality would affect the integrity of the Eden/Cruz pairing and the character of Cruz. "The thing I wanted to be most careful about was that Cruz not be made to look like an idiot," she explains. "He knew Eden better than anyone. That she would go through these things in front of him, turn on him as Eden, say the things that she did to him as Lisa, and that he not be aware that something was seriously wrong, I thought that would be demoralizing to the character. I wanted to make sure that the personality changes were subtle. Then, there was also the anger thing... Lisa being blatantly angry at Cruz at certain points," she continues. "That was difficult, because I'd like to think that all that stuff done in the past between Cruz and Eden has been real, legit and right on the money."

However, as viewers know, both Eden and Lisa are gone, a decision triggered by the producers' choice not to re-cast Walker when she leaves. Instead Eden, who was last seen going off a cliff, has taken on the personality of Suzanne Collier, an artist who was a friend of Eden's in England many years ago. For Walker, it meant the chance of portray yet another side of Eden and to be a brunette. "The wig has been such a pain in the butt," she says. "First of all, my hair has to be stuffed under this cap before I can ever put the thing on. When I do, it's been like wearing this big German shepherd on my head." As fate would have it, the emergence of Suzanne was most untimely. No sooner had the plot twist been scripted, than Walker landed a starring role on the upcoming CBS series Palace Guard. Her inevitable departure from SB left the show's writers in a quandary - how to neatly wrap up the actress' last weeks. Walker readily admits that portraying Suzanne "was not my favorite way to leave the show, but I realize that it had to be this way because of storyline. I think when fans learned that I was leaving the show, they wanted to see as much Cruz and Eden as they could. I would have liked to play out their romance and their relationship - I think it would have been a nice gift to the audience. But unfortunately, that just couldn't be."

The character of Suzanne then turns into a fourth personality, that of Eden's late brother, Channing. It is as Channing that Eden leaves SB. (His/her departure does leave the door wide open for a Walker return.) There had been some talk about recasting, a sensitive subject. "They've got to keep the show on an even keel," Walker says. "They thought that Eden's leaving would have a detrimental effect on the other characters. But I think [the writers] got a taste of the audience's dissatisfaction and decided not to recast and leave the door open. If the show (Palace Guard) doesn't work, I can always come back; I'm not averse to that.” [Ed. note: The real Suzanne comes to SB in a few weeks when Terri Garber arrives on the show.]

 

While she looks forward to tackling her first nighttime series, Walker admits she's not really excited about it yet. "Right now I'm in a quagmire of emotions. It's been difficult to know that my last day here is coming. I'll get excited about the other project as it gets closer, but it's hard knowing I'll have to say goodbye." Finally, a farewell postscript to her fans: "Thanks for giving me such a gift and for all your friendships - hopefully they can continue."

 

Where are they now: JUDITH McCONNELL

- Sophia Armonti on SANTA BARBARA (1984-93) -

Judith McConnell was a former Miss Pennsylvania 1965, and competed in the 1966 Miss America pageant. She started her acting career in a 1967 episode of Judd, for the Defense. In the same year she starred in an episode of the TV series Star Trek. In 1968 she was Princess Marta on the cult series Get Smart. She later played short-term recurring roles on The Beverly Hillbillies in 1969 and Green Acres in 1970 and 1971. Her soap career includes several roles: Augusta McLeod on General Hospital (1973-75), Valerie Conway on As the world turns (1976-79), Miranda Bishop on Another World (1980-81), Eva Vasquez on One life to live (1983) and finally Sophia Wayne Capwell Armonti on Santa Barbara (1984-93). However, the role was originated by Rosemary Forsyth who remained on the show for a few weeks. At the time almost no one noticed the recast because Sophia was introduced disguised as a man, Dominic. So big dark sunglasses, a thick beard and mustache made ​​the recast less traumatic. The only striking difference: the height.

In fact, McConnell was much lower than Forsyth. “It was as grueling as it was fun” said the actress as she pointed out the physical discomforts her costume involved. “It took me two hours to get into makeup, and I would spend 10 to 12 hours a days, three to four days a week, on the set as Dominic”. The wig gave her migraine headaches and the beard was painful to remove. After the SB’s end, McConnell has guest-starred on numerous television series throughout the years and some films: Baywatch Nights (1995), Melrose Place (1998), Beverly Hills, 90210 (1999), JAG (2004), the NBC soap Passions (2007) and The Weather Man (2005) as Lauren, Nicolas Cage’s mother. In addition to the series listed above, McConnell recently appeared in a commercial for IKEA and for Christmas cards. Today Judith McConnell is 68 years old, she is not married and has a very beautiful daughter, Gwendolyn.

 

Where are they now: JULIA CAMPBELL

- Courtney Capwell on SANTA BARBARA (1986) -

Julia Campbell made ​​her debut on television with the soap opera Ryan's Hope (1984-85), in which she plays Katie Thompson. After leaving Ryan's Hope, Julia was contacted by Santa Barbara to audition for the role of Hayley. Although the show decided she was a little too old for that part, they later contacted her to test for Courtney Capwell. She screen tested with Robert Thaler, who played Pearl. Here is what Robert Thaler recently told me about her character: “Courtney was a character chosen at a series of auditions and they wanted my feedback so I chose the girl that played the part. I was quite new to all this soap stuff and tv, so I may have approached that relationship differently had I to do it all over again. I think it was around that time that the Dobson's via their producer took me out to lunch and wanted to know if I wanted to be a more prominent lead on the show. But I said no. There were too many lines to learn and I was underestimating my ability to do all of the work. I did not want to hold them back or slow down production. So then they never fully wrote for or developed that story line or the dual character thing.”

So in March 1986 Courtney, along with her sister Madeleine (Terry Davis), came to Santa Barbara to visit their rich family: the Capwells. A short time later, Madeleine was murdered and Courtney did everything possible so that Madeleine's husband, David Laurent, could be condemned for that crime. But Julia was able to disculpate David, having a crush on him. Curtain sets over the murder case  for a while: Courtney fell in love (unrequited) with Pearl, she helped him to help Kelly to escape from the psychiatric hospital and much more. As long as Pearl’s brother, Brian (Kyle Secor), presumed dead came to town. Brian was also aspiring writer as well as presumed dead, and reviewing the documents relating to the death of Madeleine, he came to the shocking truth: it was Courtney who murdered her own sister (in self-defense). Courtney disappeared from the town the following day, whereas any prosecution seems to have been launched against her.

 

Bernard White (1986)

It was December 18, 1986. After SB, her other television credits include Herman’s Head (1992), Murder, She wrote (1993), Seinfeld (1998), Friends (2000), Ally McBeal (2002), Two and a Half Men (2006), Desperate Housewives (2007), In Treatment (2008), The Shield (2008), Heroes (2009), House M.D. (2009), Dexter (2009), No Ordinary Family (2010), Drop Dead Diva (2012). Julia Campbell actually is 50 years old, she’s married to actor Jay Karnes and the couple have two children. She was previously married to actor Bernard White, who played the recurring role of Angel Ramirez on SB.

 

Where are they now: TERRY DAVIS

- Madeleine Capwell Laurent on SANTA BARBARA (1986) -

Terry Davis began acting on the soap opera The Edge of Night with the role of April Cavanaugh (1977-1981). Then she played Stacey Winthrop on the soap Another World (1982-1984). And finally March 12, 1986 Terry Davis joined the cast of SANTA BARBARA with the role of Madeleine Capwell. Madeleine and Courtney (Julia Campbell) are the daughters of Grant Capwell, CC’s brother / rival who livesd in Boston. The two sisters came to SB to visit their uncle CC: while Courtney looked very soft and pliable, Madeleine was rather ruthless, snobbish, seemingly shallow and selfish. Her favorite victim was Pearl (Robert Thaler), the Capwell’s chauffeur at the time. Madeleine has not too liberal ideas about “servitude”. Here is what Robert Thaler recently told me about her character: “Madeline as I remember was played by a good actress who had comic ability. It's too bad they killed her off so quickly, probably it was because she had only signed a short term contract”.

But in April 7, 1986 Madeleine  was found dead in a bungalow with her skull smashed. Pearl was the first suspect, then cleared. But it was David Laurent, Madeleine’s husband, to be tried and finally acquitted for the murder of his wife, which remains unsolved until Christmas 1986: Courtney was revealed to be the killer of Madeline, that she killed in self-defense. Madeleine Capwell’s character  lasted less than a month, but her murder glued me to the TV screen for an entire season. I loved very much this character and her storyline. This was another Dobsons’ masterpiece. After SB, she starred on several tv series: Mike Hammer (1987), Adam-12 (1990) and Saved by the Bell (1996). Her last soap appearance occurred in 1998 on Sunset Beach as Hillary Nichols. Her latest role is on the TV series The Sandglass (2012) as Melinda. Currently Terry Davis is 61 years old, she still looks wonderful, she is married and has two children.

Where are they now: BRIAN MATTHEWS

- David Laurent on SB (1986) -

Brian Matthews portrayed the Adult David in the 1981 Broadway musical Copperfield and he made his film debut in The Burning (1981). Then he played Eric Garrison on the soap opera The Young and the Restless (1983-1985). He went on to portray Brother Martin on Days of our Lives (1985–1986) and David Laurent on Santa Barbara (April – June 1986): he came to Santa Barbara the day after the murder of his wife Madeline Capwell. He was soon arrested and charged with murder. He was represented at his trial by Julia Wainwright (Nancy Grahn), who quickly falls under his charm. Finally acquitted and without any further proof of his guilt, David is released and left the town, leaving Julia shocked and in tears. The murder case was resolved just at the end of 1986: Madeleine was killed by her sister, Courtney, in self-defense. After SB, Matthews starred on an episode of Murder, she wrote (1987), on two tv movies - Miracle at Beekman's Place (1988) and Red Nights (1989) – and on a independent movie, Crime Stopper (1990). His last appearance was on the tv series Hull High (1990).

Currently Brian Matthews is 59 years old, he has left Hollywood working as Family Therapist and he was a 2012 Republican candidate seeking election to the U.S. House representing the 25th Congressional District of Texas. Over two years ago, he and his wife adopted three children from Ethiopia. His campaign’s official slogan was: “I will courageously persevere to fight for all Texans and our shared values of Faith, Family and Freedom!”. Matthews was defeated by Wes Riddle and Roger Williams in the May 29, 2012, Republican primary. What Nancy Lee Grahn could think, knowing that David Laurent was a Republican candidate (as well as a unfaithful, a liar and opportunist character)? I would pay to find out it!! Enjoy my video ;)))

Where are they now: PAULA KELLY

Daughter of a jazz musician, Kelly was raised in New York City's Harlem. Graduating with an M.S. degree, she performed as a soloist with major modern dance companies. Kelly made her Broadway debut as Mrs. Veloz in the 1964 musical Something More!, sharing the stage with Barbara Cook. Kelly posed for the August 1969 issue of Playboy magazine in a full-frontal (though shadowed) dance posture and in a stop-motion nude dance sequence. Kelly was the first woman ever to be pictured in a full-frontal nude pose in the magazine. After Broadway, movies come to Paula Kelly: Sweet Charity; Soylent Green; The Spook Who Sat By The Door; The Andromeda Strain; Uptown Saturday Night; Jo Jo Dancer, Your Life Is Calling; Drop Squad and many others. Kelly had a recurring role as Liz Williams on the first season of the sitcom Night Court (1984), for which she received an Emmy nomination. Kelly has also guest-starred in a variety of television movies and sitcoms, including Golden Girls (1987) and in the groundbreaking Oprah Winfrey-produced The Women of Brewster  Place (1989) in which she portrayed one half of a lesbian couple (opposite Lonette McKee) struggling against homophobia in an inner city ghetto. She was nominated for a second Emmy for this  role.

Her arrival in Santa Barbara happened in September 1984 as Ginger Jones and it was not particularly friendly since Ginger came to claim the 250.000 dollars that Peter Flint owes her:  in Miami, Peter - Antonio Fiorno -  was just a simple gigolo at her service. So Ginger was a madam, winding like a panther and fierce as a tiger. Later Mason officially becomes her personal lawyer: without home and work he has no other choice that to borrow some money to Ginger to survive. Ginger Jones  was one of the most eccentric character of SB, but unfortunately she left the show in April 1985. Too soon, in my opinion. If you look at the eyes of Ginger Jones, you can see the magnitude of this great actress. I believe she could play only using her eyes. After SB, she worked extensively on television for all the 90s. Her last television appearance was in 1999 on the Tv Series Any Day Now. Too bad could no longer see her in action. Today she is 68 years old and I think she looks very fine. Where are they now: ALLY WALKER

Ally Walker has made her mark in both television and film, at first, debuting on daytime's Emmy ® winning Santa Barbara as Andrea Bedford from January 7, 1988 to October 31, 1988. As Samantha Waters in Profiler (1996 – 1999) she played a forensic psychologist with a dark past and she was reunited with her SB co-star A Martinez (Cruz). Walker appeared for three seasons as the sociopath ATF Agent June Stahl on Sons of Anarchy (2008 – 2010), FX's critically acclaimed dramatic hit series. Ally also made several guest appearances on Matlock, L.A. Law , Wings, The Shield, Law & Order, Boston Legal, Southland, Law & Order Special Victims Unit, and many more hit series and several made for television movies.

On the big screen, Ally Walker first appeared in Cameron Crowe's cult classic Singles. This was followed by the action flick, Universal Soldier and Steal Big, Steal Little, which starred Andy Garcia and was directed by Andrew Davis; Wonderful World with Matthew Broderick; and her well-remembered role as "Ashley Bartlett Bacon," Peter Gallagher's girlfriend in While You Were Sleeping.

Ally Walker studied biology and chemistry at the University of California, Santa Cruz and went on to work for a genetic engineering firm in San Francisco. While spending a semester at Richmond College of the Arts in London, Walker became interested in theater but did not pursue it as a career in lieu of her education in the sciences. After graduating with a science degree, she continued to work in genetic engineering until she was spotted in an L.A. restaurant and cast her in her first project. She currently is 51 years old and resides in Santa Monica with her husband, sons and three dogs. Her most recent series role was Gloria Shepherd in the Lifetime's The Protector. But on September 8, 2011, Lifetime announced it will not renew the series for a second season.

 

Melissa Brennan Reeves against Gay Marriage?

I want to tell you about a regrettable and distressing story whose protagonist is Melissa Brennan Reeves (Jade Perkins on SANTA BARBARA 1984-85). Unfortunately this is not a soap plot. Unfortunately this is the reality. Here are the facts: in late July, Mike Huckabee, former Governor of the State of Arkansas and current Fox News reporter, has appealed to the 1st August the Americans would go to have a meal at one of the fast food chain “Chick-fil-A” so to defend the company's activities in favor of associations that oppose the adoption of laws to recognize civil unions between persons of the same sex. The actress Melissa Reeves wanted to support the controversial initiative via Twitter with the message "Chick-fil-A today!! Loved every bite of it ;)! Land of the free and home of the brave.” Greg Rikaart, who plays Kevin Fisher on "The Young & The Restless”, has decided to respond to Reeves with another tweet in which he expressed his “disappointment with the support of a society that promotes hatred and bigotry” .

Then Melissa Reeves locked the actor. At this point, Crystal Chappell (ex Jane Kingsely on SANTA BARBARA, now Danielle on “The Bold & the Beautiful”), tried to help the indefensible Reeves explaining that Melissa is destroyed by the pain of being misunderstood and that his only goal was to exercise the right speech. Meanwhile, Reeves has decided to close her Twitter account.

Dear Melissa Brennan Reeves, I really believe that you have to think, please. You have to consider that a large portion of your audience is made up of gay people. You have to consider that for you it is not convenient to boycott our right to get married because if we get married, we could become a family which perhaps could adopt children, who could live surrounded by true love, where parents could look at your soap work. You have to consider that the children will grow up and maybe they'll continue to watch DAYS and so you could work until 250 years old. Think about it. It is sad not to be able to think in terms of tolerance. I tried to express myself with concepts that I believe may be familiar to you. Finally, dear Ms. Reeves, if you are free to marry who you love, I really do not understand why I can not do the same. Instead of closing your twitter account, maybe you'd do better to explain your reasons. You are no longer the young and inexperienced Jade Perkins, who perhaps now would smile reading your tweets.  Think about that every time you bite your hamburger, please.
